DRAMATURGY
KEY EXPERIENCE:
Over 15 years’ experience developing and directing new writing, working both as a director–dramaturg and as a standalone dramaturg.
Extensive experience as dramaturg for both plays and musicals. Also teaches workshops in dramaturgy, play development, the writer-director relationship and giving effective notes.
Provided dramaturgy for companies including National Theatre of Scotland, The Royal Court, Soho Theatre, Trafalgar Entertainment, The Bush Theatre, Cardboard Citizens, Tron Theatre, Criptic, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, PW Productions, The Abbey Theatre, Squint, and the Traverse Theatre, amongst others.
Currently Associate Artist of Cardboard Citizens - providing dramaturgy on commissioned work.
Provided dramaturgy as Associate Director of National Theatre of Scotland, 2023 to 2025, as Interim Artistic Director of Stockroom Theatre on their collaboratively written commissions, 2020 to 2021, as Associate Director of The Bunker Theatre 2018 to 2020 and as Associate Director of Etch New Writing, 2015 to 2019.
MA in Classical and Contemporary Text (2010 - 2011) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, including training in dramaturgy and play development.
